The Legal Help
Avery received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University, where he majored in Financial Counseling and Planning. It was through his studies at Purdue where he realized a true appreciation for individuals who spend their entire lives working and saving their hard-earned dollar to build wealth. Avery decided to pursue a law degree so that he could not only help families accomplish their goals of building wealth and preserving their assets, but also ensure that these assets get transferred to their children and grandchildren in a manner that minimizes taxation and overall governmental interference. Avery will graduate this May, obtaining his juris doctor from the University of Toledo College of Law.
While in practice, Avery plans to primarily focus his practice on Estate Planning, Medicaid Qualification and Asset Preservation Planning, Tax Planning, IRS Defense, Bankruptcy, Farm and Business Succession Planning, and other financial and transactional matters.
Avery was born and raised in Rensselaer, Indiana, and is excited to return home to serve the community. Prior to accepting his position with The Law Office of Riley and Ahler, Avery has worked as a research clerk for BB&C Attorneys at Law in Lafayette, IN, and as a Certified Legal Intern with our firm. In addition, Avery has worked for the Toledo Tax Controversy Clinic during his final year of law school, where he represented financially burdened clients in IRS audits, appeals, and collections matters.
